Boys.Best Friend.Me. !?!?

Okay so my friend heather is in love with a boy named jacob. now me and jacob are really good friends. now i kinda sorta like jacob and he told me that he likes me. while at the same time he asked my best friend heather out! now heather doesn't know i like him and that he emailed me love letters and has told me all this weird stuff. what should i do? i kinda feel like i should put jacob on the spot for being so stupid... what should i do?!?! thanks so much in advance:)
